Too-Ticky to be discontinued 31.12.2015

Moomin and Arabia have announced that the Too-ticky and "Keep Sweden Tidy' mugs will be discontinued at the end of this calendar year.

Too-Ticky

Too-Ticky (Swedish: Too-ticki, Finnish: Tuutikki)

Too-Ticky is recognizable by her striped shirt, dark pants and bobble hat. She is a good friend of the Moomin family. Too-Ticky is able to solve problems with her practicality. Unlike many of the other characters in Moomin valley, Too-Ticky does not hibernate during the winter.

2015 Winter Moomin Mug: Hibernation / Winter Sleep

This years winter mug is called Hibernation / Winter Sleep (talviuni in Finnish).

This new seasonal limited edition mug will be available starting in October. This is the second of four in a similar design series for the winter mugs. Be sure to get yours!!

Thingumy and Bob

Thingumy and Bob (Swedish: Tofslan och Vifslan, Finnish: Tiuhti ja Viuhti)

Thingumy and Bob are identical twins. You can tell them apart by the fact that Thingumy wears a red cap. They can be usually found walking around hand-in-hand. They are always friendly towards each other but may not always be as open with others from Moomin valley. Being tiny and curious, they tend to hide in small places, such as under rugs and in drawers.

Stinky

Stinky (Swedish: Stinky, Finnish: Haisuli)

Stinky is known as the brown hairy thing that lives in the woods. He is greedy and enjoys making a mockery of other Moomin characters. He cherishes valuable objects and is only concerned with his own interests. Even though he isn't entirely evil, he does not have any friends in Moominvalley.

One bright spot about Stinky is that he keeps the police employed, without him they wouldn’t have a job. Stinky is featured on his very own mug.

Snufkin

Snufkin (Swedish: Snusmumriken, Finnish: Nuuskamuikkunen)

Snufkin is Moomintroll’s best friend. He lives a nomadic lifestyle moving to warmer climates ever winter. He is recognizable by his old green clothes and wide brimmed hat. He lives in a tent, plays the harmonica and is usually seen smoking his pipe.

He is the son of Mymble and Joxter. He is also Little My’s half-brother. Snufkin likes to travel and is featured on two Arabia Moomin mugs.

Moomin Summer Mugs Collection

Over the years Arabia has released many different limited edition mugs to go along with the normal collection. These mugs are only available for a limited time and in some cases are very rare. The annual summer mug made it first appearance in 2006. Every year since we have had a new summer mug.

Looking back over the summer mugs from the last 10 years, you can see that they have followed a similar design. The first six years all have a distinct strip pattern. The last four years have seen the mugs take on a half blue/half yellow design. Does that mean we have two more similiar summer mugs coming or will Arabia surprise with something entirely new next year? Only time will tell :)

It took a little longer than expected from when I ordered it, but the mug finally found its way here :)

Moomin mug collectors can finally buy the two newest additions. The red Little My and green Snufkin mugs are now available at most stores that carry Moomin mugs. These mugs are not limited edition and will be on sale for the foreseeable future.

First look at summer 2015 Moomin mug!

'Moment on the Shore' featuring Moomintroll and the strongman is the newest mug in Arabia's Moomin mug collection. 

Moomin.com has just released the first pictures the 2015 summer seasonal mug. Moment on the Shore will be available sometime in April 2015 and only for a limited time.

The mug's design is from Moomin falls in love comic album #3. The mug will be released with matching bowl and spoons.

Keep Sweden Tidy Mug

This new mug is part of this year's "Keep Sweden Tidy" campaign. Nature was always very important to Tove Jansson and is reflected in the Moomin world. The mug is based on posters designed by Tove and Lars back in the 1970s for the Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation. Proceeds from the mugs and other products will go back into the foundation and help spread knowledge to school kids and parents about the effects of littering. 

When they become available you will be able to buy them in Sweden and also online at moomin.com.

New Little My and Snufkin mugs!

In 2015, there are two new character mug additions to the Arabia Moomin mug collection. A new red Little My mug and green Snufkin mug will be replacing the last years discontinued versions. For those still without the old mugs in your collection, you may still be able to find them in stores before they sell out.

Hemulen

Hemulens (Swedish: Hemul, Finnish: Hemuli)

Hemulens that live in Moominvalley are all similar. They like to boss other people around. They also expect all rules to be followed. They lack a sense of humor and are not great at listening to others. Many Hemulens are collectors, whether it be stamps or plants.

Moominhouse mug is here!

The new Moomin mug has finally arrived in stores.

It is to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Moomin.  The new 2015 mug comes with cardboard roof so you can build your very own Moominhouse. I picked mine up today, have you got yours? :)
